Who Should Become a Member
Membership in APOM is for all office managers
including those of you who make it your career and those of you who have
only a few 'front-line' office management responsibilities. To help
you determine if membership is right for you, we have prepared the
following queries that link directly to APOM's membership database.
As you will see, our members have a large variety of responsibilities, many different titles, and work in offices representing almost every
conceivable industry.
Our members are the people who make sure their
offices run smoothly so other employees stay focused on business.
They typically work in offices with between 5 and 250 staff. Regardless of the business being
conducted by the office, duties of Office Managers remain very similar.
They manage support staff (receptionists, mail clerks, secretary pools,
etc.), research products and services, manage vendor relationships, and
implement office budgets. They make or greatly influence key decisions regarding
office products and services. And they are often the lead on special
projects (such as office relocation, award programs, and equipment
leasing).
APOM's services are designed to functionally assist our members
