Employers Who Go Above and Beyond 10/31/2003
There is an email circulating the internet encouraging people to shop at
Sears. The email claims that "Sears is voluntarily paying the
difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical
insurance and bonus programs, for all called up Reservists and Guard
employees for up to two years." APOM has investigated this claim
and learned that it is true. In addition, we've learned that Sears
is not alone in these efforts.
In April 2003 in our Off to Serve article, we told you about
the Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
website (www.esgr.org).
The website now maintains a list of all employers who are going
above and beyond the law in support of their employees who are called
to serve. If you feel that your organization has done more than the law
requires in support of our troops and should be part of this list,
please complete the ESGR's online form. |
